How to estimate your costs

1. Find the tuition and fee amount per semester for your college, school or program based on per credit hour or full-time enrollment. Resident (in-state) rates apply to West Virginia residents only. Out-of-state students pay non-resident rates. Amounts are estimates and subject to change. You may need to scroll left in the tables to view all data.
2. Multiply your tuition and fee amount by the number of semesters you will attend to get your annual tuition and fee total. For example, if you will enroll in the fall and spring semesters, multiply the amount by two.
3. Use the Other Costs Per Year calculator to estimate your annual costs outside of tuition and fees. For Housing Status, select a “with dependents” option if the student provides more than half of someone’s support.
4. To find your total annual cost estimate, add your total annual tuition and fees to your other costs total.

What is full-time enrollment?

You are assessed per credit hour based on your enrolled hours up to full-time enrollment, which is:

• 12 credit hours for undergraduates during fall, spring or summer
• 9 credit hours for graduate/professional during fall, spring or summer

For most programs, once you reach full-time status, you are not charged additionally for hours over full-time. There are some exceptions, such as online learning assessment fees for on-campus students and uncapped programs that are assessed by credit hour regardless of full-time status.
